Drag Is Not a Crime is a traveling art and education exhibit created by Hammonton Pride to celebrate the artistry, resilience, and history of drag while challenging misinformation and stigma. Through storytelling, costume design, photography, and interactive displays, the exhibit highlights drag’s deep cultural roots and its power as a tool for self-expression, education, and social change.
The exhibit was first unveiled in June 2024 at Stockton University’s Noyes Museum of Art at Kramer Hall in Hammonton, followed by a second appearance at the 2025 NJEA Convention in Atlantic City. Each iteration continues to evolve with new content, perspectives, and community partnerships that reflect the ever-changing dialogue around drag, identity, and advocacy.
We’re proud to share this project beyond Hammonton.
If you’d like to host Drag Is Not a Crime or collaborate on related programming such as panels, workshops, or performances, we’d love to connect.
Together, let’s amplify visibility, celebrate artistry, and continue the movement that reminds the world—Drag Is Not a Crime.
